What is a Bible Read?

Our Bible Read is an informal group of people gathering online to read through the Bible together. Currently, one group is working their way through the New Testament and the other is slated to begin in the Old Testament book of Genesis beginning Thursday, January 7^th, 2027.

The two groups we have now are exclusively for women. We are considering adding a group for men at some point and are praying about whether a Bible Read or some other type of group would be best. So, if you are a man interested in a group, send us a quick note using the contact us mailbox icon (located the bottom of the menu bar on the right hand side of the page) and let us know.

What happens in a Ladies Bible Read?

First we begin with a short prayer and then one of the women will be asked to read a chapter. If there are quite a number of ladies attending wemay choose to break the assigned Sripture reading into smaller segments. Some days each woman should get to read once. Other days, perhaps two or three times. It depends and we just go with the flow.

After each chapter the ladies are invited to share their thoughts on the chapter or to ask questions. Sometimes we will dig into the meaning of a word or phrase. So while this is a “Bible Read” and not officially a “Bible Study” wehope to help ladies understand what is being read.

Now, should you prefer not to read, that is fine too. You are welcome to listen in and follow along, to make comments and ask questions. If you don’t consider yourself a strong reader but would like to try, that is great. We are patient and happy to accomodate you. We believe that God is blessed when women come together and honor His word and His creation in a manner that glorifies Him.

\Which Bible version are used?

Use the Bble you are most comfortable with. If you have questions about literal versus paraphrase translations or the various versions you may inquire in the Bible Read group or in the “Conversations” Forum.
