Online Group Meetings

Come and join our weekly Bible reads

FAQs

These Group Meetings are only available to participants from our members area, like you!

  • Groups are purposefully kept small. Each group is limited to the first 10 attendees. Speak with your group facilitator to reserve a space if you are committed to attending a specific weekly meeting.
  • The Bible is read for approximately one hour.
  • Participants will be given an opportunity to read a portion of scripture (out loud) to the group. Reading out loud is important as it improves focus, understanding, memory, and community. You choose whether to read out loud or to listen each week. Either is acceptable.
  • For maximum internet bandwidth and to reduce distractions, all members are to remain muted when not actively reading.
  • If you do not have a Bible, there are websites where you may access an online version. See the “Online Bible Resources” section at the bottom of this page for a few of these locations.
  • Zoom is our meeting platform. Get your free app from the Zoom Download Center.
  • Each meeting will open 15 minutes early for greetings and social interaction. Bible reading will begin at the posted time.
  • The Bible Reading facilitator’s purpose is solely to coordinate your Bible-reading opportunity. All Bible and trauma-related questions must NOT be asked here. Please ask them in the Conversation forum, and we hope that you do! This way everyone can learn!

Online Bible Resources

While all internet Bible resources offer a variety of translations, each offers something a little different. If you do not know which translation to start with, we suggest selecting either the:

ISR* (Institute for Scripture research – also known as “The Scriptures”) The ISR reflects the Hebraic roots of the text by restoring the
original Hebrew names within the text.
ESV (English Standard Version)
KJV (King James Version)

BibleHub.com – A nice resource and popular version. It has the *ISR translation.
BlueLetterBible, com – The Strong’s concordance is attached to the KJV version for quick and easy access to the original Hebrew or Greek. Gotta love this feature!
Bible Gateway – Different versions are available, free Bible app, and reading plans.
BibleStudyTools.com – Lots of Bible versions here, including translations in many languages!
